Dave Mc Caughan - Founder: Bibliosexual (strategy consultancy) / Co-founder: AI Agency (virtual agency)

Join us at this month's FCC at Roppongi Hills Club on Monday, May 23rd for a positive and innovative presentation by top marketing strategy consultant Dave McCaughan on how to thrive in Japan's aging market, followed by discussion and networking over buffet dinner and drinks from 7pm to 10pm.

Dave McCaughan has been doing a lot of work the last few years on ageing Asia ( including Japan of course ) and some of the myths that seem to prevent business people from benefiting from the biggest opportunity for ANY business in the near and short term. Among other things, CLSA's Tokyo office recently commissioned from him a detailed report on the myths holding back marketers and how they should approach the opportunity. This includes lots of cases, examples and challenges as to why Japan should stop being concerned with it'sageing population and instead embrace it.

Now based in Bangkok Dave McCaughan has spent over twenty years living and working across Asia, including what he calls the best ten years in Tokyo. Having joined McCann in 1986 in his native Sydney and helping to build the strategy planning role there from 1995 he undertook regional roles for that global advertising leader in developing the region's longest running monitor of it’s people and building strategy departments in over a dozen countries. Over that time he has worked with clients like Coca-Cola, MasterCard, L'Oreal, Nestle, Johnson&Johnson, Darlie, Cathay Pacific.

Beginning in early 2015 Dave established Bibliosexual, a strategy consultancy that looks hard at what matters to people, and this year co-founded the AI Agency, a virtual agency that uses AI platforms to investigate and build narratives for brands. He has been studying the importance of ageing populations for over twenty-five years and in recent years has written a number of reports on the positive side of Japan’s ageing population.
